Message from the Co-founder/Director
Welcome to Prime Vocational Institute, where we strive to be a Center of Excellence in Competence-based vocational training and enterprise development. As look for at possibilities in next decade, we want to extend our gratitude to PVI community, that is the students, parents, staff, management and stakeholders who have supported them along the way.
I am proud to say that we have provided training to over 2,150 students in our 10 years of existence, with over 70% reported to be in gainful employment and these efforts have been supported by the Ministry of Education & Sports, as well as our partners including UDHA/TASO, CfE, Child Development Centres, Kakira Busoga Foundation, and World Vision.
Prime Vocational Institute is guided by the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Policy 2020, which requires vocational training institutions to be employer-led. To this end, we have actively engaged partner companies, government, and former students and parents/sponsors and always identified potential and reputable candidates to serve on our new Board of Governors, in line with institutional guidelines. I welcome the new Board of Governors and excited for what the potential in next 5 years – increasing access to vocational training for young people across the country.
Looking to the future, we are excited to enhance our capacity to deliver quality training and increase access through our outreach programme. We have indicated in our 5 year strategic plan to upgrade to include vocational diploma courses, strengthen and expand our production units, and provide more follow-up support to our alumni for employability.
Once again, we thank our staff, management, the Board, and partners for their significant role and lives transformed.
May God bless you all.
Michael Bazira
